General terms and conditions/Player Obligations

  • Strive to attend all training sessions of the season. Informing the coaching staff when missing practice prior to the said practice’s start.
  • Comply to all instructions and directions given by the Board and coaches. Such instructions can be appealed against and made void in the right circumstances.
  • Play the scheduled games except when otherwise duly ruled by the Board and/or coaching staff. Informing the coaching staff when missing a game latest 24 hours prior to the said game’s start.
  • Adhere to and comply with the given schedules for table tasks, refereeing, and assemblies, and recognise it is the individual’s responsibility to find a replacement in case he/she cannot attend, and will be charged if they – or their replacement – doesn’t attend.
  • Adhere to and comply with correct social behaviour as requested by law.
  • Try to attend the social activities organised by the Knights.
  • During competitive games, wear only such items of playing apparel as may be approved or prescribed by the NBB and to the extent where the same are not inconsistent with those deemed fit by the club.
  • Express yourself about sensitive and delicate matters to the Board using official means of communication.
  • An equal distribution of gas costs for away games.
  • All basketballs will be collected and returned to the locker at the end of practice. Nobody is allowed to take balls home.
  • Each team has a set of uniforms that needs to be kept clean and complete. Uniforms that are missing at the end of the season will have to be paid for by the respective teams responsible for them.
  • If your team plays the first game of the day, you are collectively responsible for setting up the court. This includes setting up the baskets, the jury table including forms and other necessities and basketballs. If your team is the last team on a gameday, you are collectively responsible for tidying up and cleaning the court. This means putting away the baskets, basketballs, benches, chairs and tables.
  • You and your team need to present 45 minutes before your game starts. If you have a jury/referee task, you need to be present 20 minutes in advance.

Player Binding Rules

The player hereby agrees with the club that he is bound by;

  • The Rules and Regulations of the club; and
  • The Rules and Regulations of the NBB within which the Club plays (including requirements of players and clubs regarding registration).
  • The player hereby acknowledges that the rules restrict the freedom of players to transfer from the club to another but that such rules are necessary and reasonable for the purpose of;
  • Achieving an even and well-matched competition;
  • Ensuring the competition is properly organised and well administered.

Dispute (To be expanded on during board meeting)
In event of a dispute arising between parties during the term of this contract of following the termination hereof, the parties involved will be referred to the appropriate quarters.
In the event of a dispute arising between a player and a member of the coaching staff, they are to refer to the MSBV Maastricht Knights’ Board. A meeting will be arranged between the two parties during which the issue at hand will be discussed and resolved.
In the event of a dispute arising between a player and a member of the board, they are to refer to either UM Sports or MUSST. A meeting will be arranged between the two parties during which the issue at hand will be discussed and resolved.

Termination

The contract may be terminated by:

  • The board if the player is in breach of his/her obligations and the breach continues for a period of 30 days after notice by the board to the player requiring the breach to be remedied.
  • The player if the club is in breach of any of its obligations and the breach continues for a period of 30 days after notice by the player to the board requiring the breach to be remedied.
  • The player immediately by formal notice to the board in accordance with the Rules of the club and the NBB.
  • In the event a player is unsure about continuing their MSBV Maastricht Knights membership, it is their responsibility to notify the board before the 1st of June. It is recommended in this scenario to terminate the membership and start anew the next season.
  • In the event a player decides to terminate their membership, they should notify the board through their email: bestuur.maastrichtknights@gmail.com.

Privacy

Your data which we have in our system can only be kept for a limited amount of time, two years, after which it will be deleted or destroyed.

Your photos will not be shared or used for other purposes than indicated or approved by you. Your data which we have remains private and will not be shared with any third party except expressly necessary.

Fines
All fines enforced by the MSBV Maastricht Knights include the NBB-enforced fines.
